Sen. Mitch McConnell Addresses Employees At Meritor’s Florence, Ky., Facility

Following the briefing, McConnell updated approximately 75 employees on events in Washington and took questions.

FLORENCE, Ky. – U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky, made an official visit to Meritor Inc.’s Florence, Ky., distribution center today to meet with employees and discuss issues facing the manufacturing industry.
 
McConnell met with executives to discuss topics including energy policy and trucking industry regulations with Meritor’s Ike Evans, chairman and CEO; Craig Frohock, vice president, Aftermarket & Trailer; Krista Sohm, vice president, Communications; Rick Fulks, senior director, Aftermarket Operations; and Terry Livingston, general manager, Global Product Management & Shared Services.
 
Following the briefing, McConnell updated approximately 75 employees on events in Washington and took questions.
 
"Sen. McConnell is a strong supporter of the manufacturing industry and we appreciated the opportunity to speak directly with him about issues of importance to the Kentucky business community," Fulks said.
 
Meritor’s 440,000-square-foot facility in Kentucky distributes aftermarket parts for trucks, tractors, trailers, buses, coaches, fire trucks and other specialty vehicles. It opened in 1976 and employs nearly 600 workers. In all, Meritor has more than 800 employees in Kentucky. In addition to the Florence Distribution Center, the company operates manufacturing facilities in Frankfort and Franklin, Ky.
