Dana Today Celebrates 100 Years in Business

Today, Dana Corp. celebrates 100 years in business with its founding on April 1, 1904. On that day, an engineer named Clarence Spicer began producing his encased universal joint, which effectively replaced the sprocket-and-chain power transmission of the day.

Dana Debuts Centennial Web Site

Dana Corp. is kicking off a six-month celebration of the company’s 100th anniversary with the launch of its Centennial web site. The Web site launch precedes Dana’s official anniversary, April 1. Playing off of Dana’s people-oriented business philosophy, the site features “Your Dana Story,” on online forum which provides Dana employees, customers and friends with an opportunity to share memorable Dana experiences or anecdotes.

ChevronTexaco Celebrates 100th Anniversary of Havoline Brand

ChevronTexaco Global Lubricants is launching a year-long program to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Havoline brand. As part of the centennial celebration, ChevronTexaco said it is investing in numerous marketing programs and consumer promotions to drive the Havoline name in 2004, including sponsorship of the U.S. Olympic Team competing in the 2004 Athens Summer Olympic Games, retro product packaging and a sweepstakes with a grand prize of $1 million.
