ZF Friedrichshafen AG is expanding its global Driveline and Chassis Technology portfolio with a new, pending acquisition. Upon government approval, ZF will acquire Cherry Corp., headquartered in Pleasant Prairie, Wis. Motor vehicle parts suppliers will demonstrate the latest technologies to improve vehicle safety and fuel efficiency at the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association’s (MEMA) second annual Ride and Drive, slated for Thursday and Friday, Oct. 4-5, at RFK Stadium, Parking Lots 6 and 7, in Washington, D.C. Members of Congress, federal agency officials, congressional staff and the media will have the opportunity to test drive vehicles and see displays relating to vehicle safety and fuel efficiency, according to Bob McKenna, MEMA president and CEO.

Delphi Ends Cerberus-led Financing Deal

Delphi Corp. said Monday it ended a $3.4 billion financing deal with a private-equity firm to take the U.S. auto supplier out of bankruptcy protection. The Troy, MI, company said it still plans to emerge from Chapter 11 by the end of the year. It said its board is scheduled to meet next Monday to consider a new financing agreement. It did not say what the proposed agreement was or who it was with.
