The next generation of TPMS programming devices can already be found in most driver’s pockets: an Android or iOS smartphone or tablet. With the new EZ sensor pad from Schrader, these mobile devices or a windows computer can transform into a full programming station for TPMS sensors with quick free updates available from the database, the company says.
The EZ Sensor 2.0 is capable of covering every vehicle currently on sale in Europe with direct TPMS, according to Schrader. The EZ Sensor Pad features a Bluetooth connection for Android and iOS (Apple) smartphones/ tablets. Windows computers can be connected via USB.
Database updates are free and are applied automatically with each programming process. The actual programming process is then controlled via Schrader’s own developed TPMS app. In order to program a sensor, it only needs to be placed on the pad. A radio connection is established. The individual steps are then followed on the app.
The application is available for smartphones/ tablets at the Google Play Store or on the Apple App Store. The computer application is available on Schrader’s own platform at TPMSEuroshop.com. The app is available in English, German, Italian, French and Spanish.
Global Marketing Director Markus Schmid said he is enthusiastic about the user-friendliness and versatility of the innovative device. “The great thing about the EZ Sensor Pad is that it is not only an inexpensive alternative to expensive programming devices but it also surpasses them thanks to the highest possible up-to-dateness of the app codes. As soon as they are developed by our engineers, tested on vehicles and released, the pad directly applies the app codes as an update. Only in this way a maximal vehicle coverage can be ensured. The updates are performed by our server center in Antrim (Northern Ireland), are of course free of charge and take place automatically when the app is started.”
