Schaeffler’s Puebla, Mexico, Facility Earns Nissan Quality Award

The manufacturing and development facility has been honored five consecutive times.

Schaeffler - LogoSchaeffler‘s facility in Puebla, Mexico, was awarded Nissan Motor Co.’s NMEX VP Award for quality leadership for the fifth year in a row. According to Nissan Mexicana, Schaeffler is the only company to receive this award five consecutive times.

“It is an honor that Nissan consistently recognizes the dedication to quality that our employees exhibit on a daily basis,” said Marc McGrath, president of automotive North America for Schaeffler. “Once again, this team has set themselves apart as a beacon of quality.”

During Nissan’s Quality Month Closing Ceremony earlier this month, Marcelino Cortes, Schaeffler quality customer leader, and Rafael Cuayahuitl, Schaeffler assembly line manager, accepted the award on behalf of the team of 1,100 employees. The 240,000-square-foot facility manufactures clutch discs, conventional, self-adjusting and double clutches, actuators, and solid and dry dual mass flywheels for a number of global automakers.

Schaeffler is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its operations in Puebla, Mexico, this year and will soon celebrate the opening of its second facility in the area dedicated to the development and production of torque converters. Combined, both plants will offer Schaeffler’s global automotive customers world-class product development and manufacturing services.
