Schaeffler Group, which is still working to complete its minority buy into Continental AG, plans to close its factories for an extended Christmas break and may reduce work hours due to reduced market demand.
Reports say that most of Schaeffler’s plants will close from Dec. 19 to Jan. 7; some will remain fully operational. None involve Continental.
Anticipating continued weak automotive sector orders, Schaeffler may also cut most of its 1,700 temporary workers early next year. (Courtesy of Tire Review)
