RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — The MEMA Legislative Summit 2010 will be held Wednesday, April 28, and Thursday, April 29, at the Sofitel Hotel LaFayette Square in Washington, D.C. With a theme of “Rebound, Recover, Reinvent …,” the annual MEMA Legislative Summit gives parts suppliers the opportunity to meet with congressional leaders and discuss important industry issues.
Participants will discuss several issues of specific importance to the supplier community with members of Congress, including:
Seeking aid for small and medium manufacturers through a revolving loan fund;
Increasing the ceiling of the Small Business Administration’s 7 (a) loan program;
Encouraging Senate passage of the Advanced Vehicle Technology Act;
Building support for heavy duty safety technology tax incentives;
Explaining the benefits of a national safety and emissions inspection program; and
Relaying the supplier industry’s position on health care, card check, and energy legislation.
Member companies will have the opportunity again to provide exhibits to serve as a backdrop for the Congressional reception, giving companies a greater opportunity for visibility at the event and providing reception attendees an opportunity to learn about the many facets of the supplier industry. Exhibitors are asked to prepare displays that highlight employment, economic contributions, fuel-efficiency, safety technology and other supplier innovations. Any members interested in exhibiting at the Congressional Reception & Supplier Fair should contact Ann McCulloch at 202-312-9242 or [email protected]. Exhibitor fees are $1,500 per space (6ft by 3ft each).
Early bird registration for the MEMA Legislative Summit 2010 is $200 per person. After Monday, Feb. 15, 2010, standard registration will be $300 per person.
Overnight accommodations will be available at the Sofitel for $270 per night plus tax. The stated room rate is available through April 2, 2010.
