ANDERSON, IN — Following the news earlier this week it settled with a Taiwanese company that infringed upon its patents, Remy International has filed another lawsuit against three more companies, alleging U.S. patent law violations related to the company’s proprietary intellectual property associated with alternators.
Orange County Alternator located in Mira Loma, Calif., Machinery Components of West Chicago, Ill., and United Starters & Alternators Industries, based in Bay Shore, NY, have been named as co-defendants in a suit filed by Remy on November 17, in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, Indianapolis Division.
Remy’s court action claims these companies have not complied with prior Cease and Desist notifications and continue to knowingly manufacture, use, sell, offer for sale and/or import to the U.S. various unlicensed alternator products that use Remy’s patent-protected technology and thus infringe Remy’s patents. Remy is seeking a judgment ordering the recall and destruction of the defendants’ infringing products, as well as damages and injunctive relief.
