Raybestos Powertrain Announces New Hybrid Technology Friction Clutch Plates

RaybestosHTfrictionclutch-Feb2015CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – Raybestos Powertrain has introduced new Hybrid Technology (HT) friction clutch plates for automatic transmissions. The patented Raybestos HT design integrates a groove pattern and a proprietary blend of premium, high-energy friction material to create a new generation of friction clutches that the company says seamlessly combines the fluid dynamics of segmented friction lining with the strength and durability of a full friction ring.

According to Raybestos, rigorous testing to SAE standards – supported by extensive field-testing – verifies that the brand’s HT friction clutch plates can reduce stresses during shifts. Improved oil flow keeps the components cooler, extending the life of the clutches and helping the rebuild last longer than ever before, the company adds.

“Everything about these new HT friction clutch plates is innovative, from our distinctive groove pattern to our proprietary, high-energy friction material,” said David Coolidge, CEO of Raybestos Powertrain. “Our product designers and engineers spent countless hours testing and perfecting this Hybrid Technology to deliver smooth, durable shifts that can outperform OE across a broad range of applications.”

The initial release of Raybestos HT friction clutch plates includes GM, Ford and many imports. Additional applications will become available throughout the year. Raybestos Powertrain HT friction clutch plates are offered separately in bulk, or as part of a clutch pack module. Introductory pricing is available for a limited time.
