RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC — The Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association (HDMA) has formed its new Heavy Duty Aftermarket Council (HDAMC) and elected Robert “Pete” Joy, president of Haldex Commercial Vehicle Systems, North American Sales Division, as chairman at the group’s inaugural meeting on Jan. 11 in Chicago.
The election is in progress for the vice chairman and advisory council members.
The new HDAMC will meet quarterly to address issues such as dealer vs. traditional channels, supply chain management, marketing groups, forecasting, best practices, issues around national warranty programs and aftermarket opportunities in emerging markets such as Europe, China and Latin America. Other issues to be addressed include pricing formulation best practices, logistics, distributor, fleet training, sales management and e-business best practices, brand protection, government affairs and customer service best practices.
HDAMC’s current primary focus is participating in the joint association organization of the first Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week, planned for mid-February 2006 in Las Vegas.
