Pep Boys has issued a recall of some 8,600 Cooper-produced Cornell, Definity and Futura brand tires.

The recall, covering some 590 Pep Boys stores in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, came about due to concerns over possible belt separations, Pep Boys said.

The affected tires were produced between Aug. 13 and Oct. 27. Pep Boys said that some 3,400 of the tires were recovered from its warehouses.

This is the third recall of Cooper-made tires in recent weeks and fourth this year. In October, Cooper announced a recall of approximately 80,000 tires due to the use of a “non-conforming component.” Earlier this month, Cooper recalled an undetermined number of tires sold through Army & Air Force Exchange Service stores in Europe.
