HOUSTON, TX — On the market for many years, full synthetic motor oils have been proven to outperform conventional and synthetic blend motor oils in nearly all aspects of engine protection.

In light of this, Pennzoil has introduced a new web site that teaches consumers and professionals about the benefits and protection provided by full synthetic motor oil. Visitors can log on to PennzoilPlatinum.com for lessons about synthetic motor oil presented in 20 “chapters” or facts ranging from how synthetic motor oil is formulated, to extreme temperature protection and high-performance testing.

Each page of the Pennzoil Platinum Web site can be e-mailed or printed as a custom fact sheet. Along with informative text, chapters include charts, graphs and custom animation to deliver a synthetic story with full impact. Visitors will be able to test their knowledge on full synthetic motor oil with the “Pop Quiz” and challenge their friends by e-mailing a link to this test. Visitors can also clear up common misconceptions related to full synthetic motor oil in a chapter devoted to “Synthetic Oil Myths.” This site is part of the recently introduced Pennzoil Platinum full synthetic motor oil.

“We feel that it’s an appropriate time to re-tell the synthetic story to those who may have used synthetic oil or are considering a full synthetic for their vehicle’s engine,” says Jeffrey Lack, director of marketing, Pennzoil. “The new Pennzoil Platinum Web site is set up to offer visitors useful information while highlighting the characteristics of our new Pennzoil Platinum full synthetic motor oil.”

Formulated by the Pennzoil Global R&D Center, Pennzoil Platinum is produced from a unique combination of synthetic components. The highly-refined base oil is of such exceptional quality that it allows the proprietary additive package in Pennzoil Platinum to focus on neutralizing engine contaminants and help keep engines running at their full potential. Pennzoil Platinum provides superior protection (vs. conventional and synthetic blends) against sludge and harmful deposits helping to produce a cleaner running engine. Pennzoil Platinum optimizes engine performance and helps maximize engine efficiency and fuel economy.
