Peggy Fisher Elected to TIA Secretary Position

Peggy Fisher, president of Fleet Tire Consulting in Rochester Hills, Mich., has been elected secretary of the Tire Industry Association (TIA). The election took place on May 21, during the TIA Board of Directors meeting held in Clearwater, Fla.

BOWIE, MD — Peggy Fisher, president of Fleet Tire Consulting in Rochester Hills, Mich., has been elected secretary of the Tire Industry Association (TIA). The election took place on May 21, during the TIA Board of Directors meeting held in Clearwater, Fla.

Five candidates were nominated for the position. The votes resulted in a run-off between Peggy Fisher and Bud Mullaney, president of Mullaney Tire Service, in Matawan, NJ. Fisher will take on the new role effective November 2004. The secretary position proceeds through the officers’ chairs to eventually serve a one-year presidential term, which Fisher will serve from November 2007 through October 2008.

A leading independent truck tire and wheel expert, Fisher was president of the Roadway Tire Co., a retreading operation for eight years and manager of tire, trailer, and dolly maintenance for Roadway Express for eleven years. She is currently a consultant to fleets and manufacturers and writes for Crain’s Tire Business and Truckstop Travel Plaza magazines.

Fisher served as general chairwoman and treasurer of the Technology & Maintenance Council of the American Trucking Associations and has chaired its Tire & Wheel Study Group for ten years. She currently chairs two tire and wheel task forces.

She is also active in tire industry associations. She served as a director of the International Tire & Rubber Association for seven years and is currently a director of the Tire Industry Association. She has also served as a director of the Tire Retread Information Bureau from 1995 to 1998 and has been a full member of the Society of Automotive Engineers since 1983.
