PEAK Automotive Launches BlueDEF Locator on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad

New app allows diesel engine drivers to find nearby BlueDEF retailers.

NORTHBROOK, Ill. – To ease the search for Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), PEAK Automotive Products has created the BlueDEF Locator application for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. The location-based application allows diesel engine drivers to find BlueDEF retailers near their current location. By selecting a BlueDEF retailer on the map or list, the user can view more information about the location, such as address and phone number. From this page, the user also has the ability to call the retail location or get driving directions to the BlueDEF retailer. The app is now available on iTunes.

BlueDEF is a non-toxic solution of 67.5 percent purified water and 32.5 percent ultra, pure urea. BlueDEF is not a fuel or fuel additive but instead, when injected into the exhaust stream and passed over a catalyst, BlueDEF helps convert NOx into nitrogen gas and water vapor – two harmless and natural components of the air we breathe.

A Diesel Engine’s Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) System is very sensitive to chemical impurities in DEF, according to PEAK. This makes it extremely important to fill DEF tanks with the purest Diesel Exhaust Fluid. BlueDEF is manufactured in accordance to ISO Standard 22241 and is certified by the American Petroleum Institute (API) to ensure the highest quality Diesel Exhaust Fluid.

Diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) is the fastest-growing functional fluid in the North American heavy-duty marketplace, PEAK says, and is expected to reach more than 1 billion gallons of yearly consumer demand over the next decade.
