Bosch Announces New Americas Chassis Division President

Bosch has appointed Ronaldo Reimer as president of its North and South American Chassis Division, effective April 1. Reimer succeeds Hans Weckerle who will retire after 29 years with the company. He has also been named executive vice president of its global Chassis Systems business.

DENSO International America Promotes Bill Foy to Vice President

Bill Foy, of Novi, Mich., has been named vice president at DENSO International America, Inc. (DIAM), the North American headquarters for Japan-based automotive supplier DENSO Corp. Previously, Foy, who has been with DENSO for eight years, had been director of Daimler/Chrysler Sales for DIAM since 2001. Prior to that position, he served as senior manager of DIAM’s General Motors Sales.

DENSO to Establish Engineering Center for Diesel Engine Components in Germany

DENSO Automotive Deutschland GmbH (DNDE), a subsidiary of Japan-based DENSO Corp, today announced plans to establish Aachen Engineering Center, a new engineering center for diesel engine components. The center, located in Wegberg, Germany, will carry out application design work for diesel engine fuel injection systems.

The Bosch Group has reported increased sales worldwide for 2004. The company said sales increased 10 percent, reaching $49.7 billion. In 2004, Bosch revenue in North America grew 17 percent, resulting in sales surpassing $7.5 billion.

Manufacturer to Establish U.S. Headquarters in Toledo, Ohio

After considering a number of competitive sites within a two-hour driving radius of Detroit, Egelhof Controls Corp., a German-based manufacturer serving the automotive and heating industries, has selected Toledo, Ohio, to house its U.S. headquarters and manufacturing operations. Cornel Broenner, currently at Egelhof’s production facility in Breitenbach, France, will relocate to Toledo to become the plant manager. Sales and engineering activities, which were established in metro Detroit in 2000, will also relocate to the new facility in Toledo.

Hella Reports Modest Sales Gains for the Year

Global automotive supplier Hella has reported a nearly two percent increase in sales for the year ending May 31. The company said the increase was spurred by above-average sales growth in Europe and the Asia/Pacific region and increasing orders for original equipment by North American automakers. Worldwide annual sales for lighting and electronics supplier Hella KGaA Hueck & Co. grew to $3.77 billion for 2003/2004, compared with the previous year’s $3.69 billion, the company reported.

Japan Auto Parts Makers Nix Contract Renewals with Ford

Japan’s big auto parts suppliers have declined to renew contracts with Ford Motor Co. due to concerns about their intellectual property rights, a Japanese business daily reported Monday. The suppliers, such as Denso Corp. and Aisin Seiki Co., raised their concerns after Ford decided to include new provisions in its contracts allowing it to share suppliers’ technologies with other Ford group firms, the Nihon Keizai Shimbun said in its evening edition.
