AASA China Aftermarket Forum Works with TecDoc to Develop Electronic Car Parts Catalog
To address the rapid expansion of the Chinese aftermarket, the China Aftermarket Forum (CAF) of the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA) worked with TecDoc, a leading electronic parts cataloging provider in Europe, to develop an electronic parts catalog system for China’s aftermarket. The cooperative project began in early 2007, and the first data entry training was held in Shanghai and was attended by TRW, Hella, Tenneco, SKF and Federal-Mogul.

DuPont Raises Outlook for 2007, 2008
Citing strong fourth-quarter results and prospects for growth in emerging markets, chemical maker DuPont on Wednesday raised its earning outlook for 2007 as well as its profit forecast for 2008. The company, which makes a range of products from automotive coatings to genetically modified seeds, expects 2007 earnings to be at the upper end of its previously announced range of $3.15 to $3.20 a share, excluding one-time items.

Visteon and 3M have announced a global advanced technology collaboration unveiled yesterday at the 2008 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The companies unveiled a jointly developed demonstration vehicle showcasing more than 50 technologies designed to enhance the driving experience. The technologies demonstrate potential commercial applications that could result from this collaborative arrangement. Threat of Terrorist Attack Forces Cancellation of Dakar Rally
The Dakar Rally, the legendary race across the Sahara which is deemed to be one of motorsport’s toughest and most dangerous competitions, has been cancelled for the first time in its 30-year history because of security fears.
