Visteon Recognized for Fostering Diversity

Visteon has been recognized by two separate organizations for its commitment to fostering diversity with employees and suppliers. Visteon earned the top rating of 100 percent in the 2009 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), an annual survey administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. Visteon was one of eight automotive companies and the only first-tier auto supplier among 259 U.S.-based companies earning top marks for their treatment of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employees. Separately, Visteon received a Corporate ONE Award from the Michigan Minority Business Development Council (MMBDC) for the company’s supplier diversity program, which drives procurement opportunities with minority business owners.

Delphi Investors File Countersuit

Appaloosa Management and other investors that unexpectedly pulled out of their deal to invest $2.55 million in Delphi Corp. have issued a counterclaim against the parts manufacturer, seeking $82.5 million plus expenses. According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, the investors claim in their countersuit that they are due the $82.5 million fee because Delphi violated terms of the investment agreement earlier this year.

Beck/Arnley has expanded its new category of foreign-branded brake pads to include ATE and Mintex, bringing the total number of available applications to 2,345. This category, which was introduced in Feb. 2008, complements the existing range of Beck/Arnley brand OE replacement pads and Axxis brand brake pads. The new brake pads are sourced from leading foreign suppliers, according to the company.
