NABC’s “Leave Something Behind” Campaign Helps Generate Sponsorships for 70 Free Cancer Screenings

The National Auto Body Council (NABC) announced this week that the collision industry helped raise funds for 70 free prostate cancer screenings for patients that may not otherwise have been able to afford them. The total donation, $1,600, was raised over the course of the NABC board meeting and Collision Industry Conference (CIC) that took place on April 10-12 in Atlanta. NABC executives said the fact that the sum was raised in a relatively short time frame indicates the effectiveness of council’s ongoing “Leave Something Behind” campaign, which is dedicated to producing a tangible, positive impact on localities that host collision industry gatherings.

ACCC and CARQUEST Form Strategic Partnership and Launch MaxPak Program

American Car Care Centers Inc. (ACCC) and CARQUEST Auto Parts have formed a new strategic marketing partnership that will be marketed by ACCC as MaxPak. MaxPak will include training and education and an insurance offering, among other services. Set to launch Apr. 1, MaxPak will consist of two primary elements: ACCC University and a range of marketing and promotion offerings. Paccar Inc.’s Peterbilt unit is cutting production at its Nashville, TN, truck assembly plant, and will lay off some 670 employees after the first of the new year. Paccar said the moves are being made in anticipation of significantly lower orders for new trucks in 2007.
