Edelbrock Awards First Vic Edelbrock Sr. WyoTech Scholarship

Vic Edelbrock, president and CEO of Edelbrock Corp. has established his third scholarship program for students pursuing a career in the automotive industry. This week, Edelbrock announced the establishment of the Vic Edelbrock Sr. WyoTech Scholarship. WyoTech is a national technical college that offers a specialized automotive curriculum, including training in street rods, custom trim and upholstery, diesel, service management and collision/refinishing. The school has six campuses in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Wyoming and California.

CARQUEST Selects 2004 TECH-NET Professional/ASE Technician of the Year

Richard Robb of Elkhorn, Wis., has been named the 2004 TECH-NET Professional / ASE Technician of the Year. Owner of Hi-Tech Automotive, he is an ASE certified master automobile technician with L-1 certification. Robb was selected for the award after meeting the criteria set by CARQUEST and excelling on the Spring 2004 ASE automobile certification exams. Robb became an automotive technician in 1975. He started Hi-Tech Automotive 12 years ago and today his business has four bays.

In any case, whenever fire was discovered, everyone is in agreement that the first thing needed was a users’ group to share knowledge and techniques about this new, mysterious technology. Cavemen and their cavewomen traveled far and wide to assemble and discuss fire and trade new ideas and stories about its benefits. Can’t you just imagine the program agenda for that first Users’ Group? Probably workshops with titles like “Cooked Meat: A Whole New Paradigm” and “Heating Your Cave: Why a Chimney is a Good Idea” and “Stay Awake after Dark with a New Source of Light.”

Legendary Engine Builder Pat Musi Joins Edelbrock

Pat Musi, a championship auto racer and 30-year performance specialist, has been hired as a product development consultant for aftermarket performance product manufacturer Edelbrock Corp. In this new role, Musi will focus on nitrous systems, as well as racing cylinder heads and high-horsepower EFI products. Described as “one of the most intimidating and influential doorslammer racers in the country,” Musi opened Pat Musi Performance in Carteret, NJ, in 1969 at the age of 18. That same year he started his racing career, which includes several Pro Street world championships (including four straight from 2000-2003) and records.
