Collaboration Is Key To Improving, Advancing Aftermarket/OEM Partnerships

“Collaboration” was the predominant theme at the Equipment and Tool Institute (ETI) 2013 ToolTech event, held April 23-25 at the Hyatt Mission Bay in San Diego. A host of representatives from across the aftermarket industry presented ToolTech attendees with their insights and concerns about the future of the aftermarket and its relationships with the OEMs.

In an effort to assist its members in bringing new and improved equipment and tools to the marketplace, The Equipment and Tool Institute (ETI) has launched a series of market research projects. The current survey is an update to research done in 2009 and covers Flash Reprogramming, or J2534, as it is also known.

The theme of this year’s event, “OEMs and the Aftermarket – A New Direction – Renewed Partnership,” was designed to help bridge the gap that vehicle manufacturers have with promoting factory tools and equipment to aftermarket customers, and to help satisfy the aftermarket need for OEM information and tools.
