Mazda Devises Corn-based Plastic for Auto Interior Parts
Mazda Motor Corp. said Thursday it has developed, in cooperation with Hiroshima University and other local concerns, a plant-derived plastic strong enough for use as interior parts in automobiles. The new material is made mainly from corn and can be mass-produced, according to Mazda, which is planning to start commercial production within a few years.
