Magna To Purchase Roof Systems Business From Porsche

Magna International signed an agreement with Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG where Magna will acquire CTS Fahrzeug-Dachsysteme GmbH, Bietigheim-Bissingen (CTS), based in Germany. CTS is a roof systems manufacturer for the automotive industry. The purchase price is approximately $200 million and will be satisfied in cash.

SKF Receives Supplier Award from Europe’s Biggest Distribution Network

SKF announced today it has received the 2004 Supplier of the Year award from Autodistribution International (ADI) at a recent ceremony in Kortenberg, Belgium. ADI is the largest auto parts distribution network in Europe. Through its 17 national partners, ADI represents more than 600 automotive wholesale businesses, with a network of more than 2,000 wholesale outlets through 25 countries. Overall, ADI serves a market of roughly 200 million cars.

F1 Teams, Car Manufacturers Boycott FIA Meeting

The Associated Press has reported that nine Formula One teams and five F1 car manufacturers will boycott a meeting next week with FIA in another move interpreted as increasing their bid for a new grand prix series. FIA’s meeting on Apr. 15 reportedly was called to discuss 2008 race season regulations. The only race team and constructor committed to attending the meeting is Ferrari, which signed a multi-year deal to remain in F1.

SKF, a global supplier of bearing and elastomeric products, will be primary sponsor for NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series driver Dave Blaney and Richard Childress Racing’s (RCR) No. 07 Chevrolet in the April 10 Advance Auto Parts 500 at Martinsville (Va.)
