Transpro yesterday announced that the Securities and Exchange Commission has declared effective its Registration Statement on Form S-4 concerning the planned merger of Modine Aftermarket Holdings, Inc., the automotive aftermarket business of Modine Manufacturing Company into Transpro. The combined company will be renamed Proliance International, Inc. and will trade on the American Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol “PLI.”

Cicero Appointed New Denman Tire CEO

Emanuele (Manny) Cicero has been named president and CEO of Denman Tire Corp., effective May 1, the company announced. Cicero replaces Charles Wright, who is retiring. Cicero, a seasoned professional with more than 27 years of experience in the tire industry, began his career with Michelin in 1978. In 1984, he joined Bridgestone as territory manager for Metro New York. Then, in 1999, Cicero was named president, OTR tire sales, for Bridgestone/Firestone North American Tire.

Canadian Tire Announces New Five-Year Strategic Plan

Canadian Tire has introduced its 2005-2009 strategic plan, which includes establishing up to 285 new and replacement retail stores, to shareholders. The strategic plan, according to the company, focuses primarily on five “imperatives” for all business lines. They include: growing sales and revenues, improving earnings performance, embedding a “customers for life” culture, extending growth and performance beyond 2009 and enhancing “value creation” through “financial flexibility and maximization of real estate assets.”
