Accuride Corp. has announced the appointments of Donald Johnson, Jr. and Craig Muhlhauser to its board of directors. Johnson has also been appointed to the board’s audit committee. The appointments are effective immediately. Johnson is currently president and chief executive officer of Aftermarket Technology Corp. (ATAC), a leading remanufacturer of a wide range of automotive drivetrain products. Prior to joining ATAC, Johnson was global director, parts, supply and logistics at Ford Motor Co. He was an executive at Caterpillar, prior to joining Ford.

For the six months ended June 30, 2005, net sales were $615.4 million compared to net sales of $232.0 million for the same six-month period in 2004.

Terry Keating, Accuride’s current president and CEO, will serve as president and CEO of the combined company, which is headquartered in Evansville, Ind. Accuride officials said they expect the company to become one of the largest suppliers to the heavy/medium commercial vehicle industry.

Accuride to Acquire Transportation Technologies Industries, Inc.

Heavy duty wheel maker Accuride Corp. has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Transportation Technologies Industries, Inc. (TTI), one of the largest North American manufacturers of truck components for the heavy and medium-duty trucking industry. The common stock of both companies is privately held. With the merger, the two companies hope to become a “one-stop component sourcing solution and expects to become one of the predominant suppliers to the heavy/medium commercial vehicle industry,” according to a press release issued this week.
