AAMCO Unveils Eco-Green Initiative to Promote Cleaner Running Cars and Centers

Transmission service center chain, AAMCO, recently introduced Eco-Green Auto Service Certification, a new program designed to protect the environment, reduce vehicle emissions and promote alternative fuels among the thousands of motorists AAMCO serves annually. Eco-Green Auto Service Certification will be awarded to qualifying AAMCO centers across America based on a stringent set of criteria that reduces the centers’ environmental footprint, while giving AAMCO customers a new range of services that cut emissions, improve mileage and reduce the hazardous waste associated with owning and maintaining their vehicles. The certification is the first of its type in the automotive aftermarket industry.

Tenneco Expands Monroe Ride Control Line

Tenneco has announced an expansion of its Monroe ride control product line for 2008, introducing more than 150 new part numbers. Tenneco has added more than 700 ride control SKUs over the past five years. The new parts will be included in the 2008 Monroe Master Ride Control Catalog and available in the online catalog at www.monroe.com.

When Mary Lou Parlato throws on her red flannel shirt and gets ready to work on cars at Macomb Community College, she considers herself to be just like one of the boys. Her hands get dirty and grime gets into her nails. At 79, she’s the oldest student in her automotive technology class. But her gender stands out just as much. According to the Michigan Secretary of State’s Office, only 76 of the 35,464 licensed mechanics in the state are women.

New Exhibitors, New Products to Debut at 2005 Work Truck Show

The newest vocational trucks, equipment, technology and components will debut at The Work Truck Show 2005 and 41st Annual National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) Convention. The event will take place March 2-4 (educational sessions start March 1) at the Indiana Convention Center & RCA Dome in Indianapolis. More than 40 companies have announced plans to introduce nearly 60 new products at the show.
