Edward Lampert Won’t Stand for Re-election to AutoZone Board
AutoZone announced today that Edward Lampert, the chairman and chief executive officer of ESL Investments, Inc. and chairman of Sears Holdings Corp., will not be standing for re-election to the AutoZone Board of Directors, in order to devote more time to other duties at ESL and Sears Holdings. The board has nominated Theodore Ullyot, executive vice president and general counsel of ESL, to fill the board seat vacated by Lampert.

Atlantis Holding Corp has signed a letter of intent for the acquisition of Eagle Automotive Group, Inc. Based in Oceanside, CA, Eagle Automotive Group was formed in early 2006. The company offers automotive aftermarket products, including interior seat products, seat covers, interior organizers, consoles, cup holders and more. Eagle will utilize the services of American Sales & Marketing, another recently acquired subsidiary of Atlantis Holding Corp, to promote these automotive products to the major automotive supply stores and warehouses, such as Sears, Auto Zone, CSK Auto, CARQUEST, Parts Plus, Costco and Wal-Mart.
One in Five Drivers Do Not Properly Check Tire Pressure, Says RMA
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) statistics show that about one in every three cars has a significantly under inflated tire and that 660 fatalities and 33,000 injuries occur every year as a result of low tire pressure-related crashes. AAA reports that each year they receive about 4 million roadside assistance calls due to tire-related incidents. Not surprisingly, a 2006 Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) survey found that more than 80 percent of drivers do not know how to properly check their tire pressure.
