AAIA to Offer More Education at AAPEX

In response to requests from members for more educational opportunities, the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) is hosting a variety of value-added seminars at this year’s Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX). AAPEX 2007 is scheduled for Oct. 30-Nov. 1 at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas.

Talks Ahead at Tire Maker: Goodyear, United Steelworkers Could Meet This Week

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. and the striking United Steelworkers of America are heading back to negotiations. The company and the union on Thursday announced they will meet, possibly as early as this week. Goodyear first announced Thursday morning it was sending its negotiators to Cincinnati, where talks had been taking place up until 15,000 Steelworkers went on strike Oct. 5, and hoped the union would join them. In the afternoon, the USW said it was willing to talk as well.

AIA to Hold Awards Program at AAPEX

The Auto International Association (AIA) Segment of the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association will hold its 16th AIA Industry Awards program at AAPEX 2004. Last year’s awards program showcased 70 entries from 24 companies in an impressive display located in the Sands Expo Center Upper Level Lobby. This high-traffic area will again be the site for this year’s display.
