NUCAP Expands in China

Due to rapid growth in sales of its disc brake backing plate, NRS and shims, NUCAP China says it has outgrown its current 40,000-square-foot facility, and as a result has moved to a new 135,000-square-foot facility. The new location is in the same Jiading district of Shanghai in which it currently resides. NUCAP plans to begin occupying the new facility in October.

SHANGHAI – NUCAP Industries has announced the opening of a new disc brake component facility in Shanghai, China. NUCAP China's new 135,000-square-foot facility in the Jiading District of Shanghai.

Due to rapid growth in sales of its disc brake backing plate, NRS and shims, NUCAP China says it has outgrown its current 40,000-square-foot facility, and as a result has moved to a new 135,000-square-foot facility. The new location is in the same Jiading district of Shanghai in which it currently resides. NUCAP plans to begin occupying the new facility in October.

Equipment is being deployed to triple existing manufacturing capacity for plates, shims and NRS. NUCAP says the extra space will be also be used to install washing and de-burring capabilities for plates, as well as additional storage for raw materials and finished goods.

Plans are under way to localize manufacturing of other product lines such as electronic wear sensors, brake pad hardware, caliper hardware and brake shoes in the near future.

In addition, NUCAP has announced that Link Engineering Co. will open its new brake testing tech center in the adjoining facility. This tech center will operate as an independent test laboratory staffed solely by Link personnel. NUCAP will utilize this facility to support its noise dampening shim solutions for its customers based in China as well as proving out the benefits of NRS and its other brake technologies to the local market.
