While buzzing through the new Remanufacturing Section on the floor, stop by the Engine Rebuilders Council’s (ERC) booth 4476 to witness a Chevrolet R07 NASCAR Sprint Cup spring to life step-by-step in 20 minutes flat.
“The roar of the engine in the Expo Center will make you feel alive. The speed by which the professional engine builders assemble the engine is so fast that if you blink, you’ll miss it,” said ERC Chairman Ken Carter, national sales manager, U.S. and Canada MAHLE Clevite, Inc. “ERC is very proud to help sponsor the remanufacturing section of the show and demonstrate to parts suppliers the high value ancillary sales (up to $500 worth) that accompany the sale of a rebuilt engine.”
“Distributors and retailers may not realize that when you add up the sales of drive belts, hoses, filters, spark plugs, etc. that accompany a rebuilt engine, your part sales number is around $500,” said Carter.
“Our role at ERC is to educate consumers about the economic and environmental benefits of rebuilding an engine. We want to deliver this message to repair professionals with a three-minute DVD they can take, which explains rebuild options to consumers,” continued Carter. “The video can be played in the shop’s waiting room and on their website. A customer may not know their options when it comes to their engine and this DVD can be a great way to explain.”
