New Philips Windshield Treatment Kit Dramatically Improves Driver Visibility In Hazardous Conditions

Hydrophobic formula maintains windshield clarity for up to six months, company says.

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – Philips Automotive North America, a division of Royal Philips, has released its new Philips Windshield Treatment Kit, which is designed to dramatically improve driver visibility in hazardous conditions. The Philips Windshield Treatment Kit is applied to windshields to help repel rain, snow and dirt, allowing drivers to see more clearly and travel more safely, according to Philips.

The Philips Windshield Treatment Kit uses a hydrophobic technology, which is designed to coat the windshield glass and help eliminate items that may obstruct the driver’s field of vision. The coating causes water to bead up and run off. It also makes it easier to remove dirt, sap and even bugs, according to Philips. The company says the product lasts for up to six months after application, and, the hydrophobic technology used in the Philips Windshield Treatment Kit is car wash-resistant.

The Philips Windshield Treatment Kit can be used by both professionals and do-it-yourselfers through a fast and easy application process, Philips says. The kit includes everything needed to properly treat the windshield as well as the other windows in the vehicle. No additional tools are required.

Philips also has developed an instructional video, which provides step-by-step instructions on how to properly apply the treatment to a vehicle windshield. It also alerts drivers to the dangers of having a windshield that is not properly cleaned.

According to Dennis Samfilippo, general manager, Philips Automotive, “Driving in wet weather is inherently dangerous, and driving risks increase considerably with the inability to see clearly through the windshield. So, using our new Philips Windshield Treatment Kit can enhance a driver’s ability to see in inclement weather, increasing the margin of safety.”
