New MOOG Problem Solver Upper Ball Joint Eliminates Need to Replace Control Arm Assembly on Select Cadillac SRX, STS Models

Now available for 2005-2007 Cadillac STS and 2004-2007 Cadillac SRX models, the new MOOG Problem Solver upper ball joint (part no. K500065) is available as a separate component that can be easily pressed into the vehicle's original control arm.

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. — Federal-Mogul’s MOOG steering and suspension team has introduced a new Problem Solver upper ball joint that the company says enables vehicle service providers to eliminate unnecessary replacement of complete control arm assemblies on thousands of Cadillac STS and SRX models. As the aftermarket’s “Problem Solver,” MOOG steering and suspension parts help ensure faster, easier installation and provide superior performance and durability, according to Federal-Mogul.

Now available for 2005-2007 Cadillac STS and 2004-2007 Cadillac SRX models, the new MOOG Problem Solver upper ball joint (part no. K500065) is available as a separate component that can be easily pressed into the vehicle’s original control arm. The original equipment-design ball joint and other aftermarket units can only be purchased as part of a complete control arm/spring mount assembly, adding unnecessary cost to the repair, the company notes.

The MOOG K500065 upper ball joint features a premium resin-plated housing that helps prevent galvanic corrosion when paired with the vehicle’s aluminum control arm. According to Federal-Mogul, the greasable design and premium boot help ensure longer component life in even the most challenging operating conditions.

“Consumers are looking for the best value in every vehicle repair. The MOOG engineering team has developed an exclusive problem-solving solution that helps cut the cost of the job while delivering a high-quality, long-lasting repair,” said Mark Boyle, director, steering and suspension products, Federal-Mogul.

MOOG steering and suspension components are the leading choice of NASCAR crew chiefs and automotive repair professionals, according to Federal-Mogul, and have helped drive an unprecedented 45 consecutive NASCAR Cup champions to victory, the company says. The unique benefits of MOOG products are highlighted in Federal-Mogul’s innovative "Smart Choice" campaign, which reinforces the message that longer-lasting, better-performing replacement parts are today’s best option for technicians and consumers.
