AKRON, OH — The new CXT (Commercial Extreme Truck) from International Truck and Engine Corp. – reportedly the world’s largest production pickup truck – comes equipped with commercial tires from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co.

The CXT stands nine feet tall, weighs seven tons and is more than 21 feet long, according to International Truck. The company will introduce the new truck this week at its plant in Garland, Texas.

Goodyear’s Unisteel G159A rib radial tires are positioned in the front of the truck, and G167A drive-wheel radial tires are on the rear. The tires are capable of handling the truck’s six-ton load capacity.

The 14-ply Unisteel tires have 22.5-inch wheel diameters and provide “serious traction” for the new truck, according to Chuck Yurkovich, general manager of OE commercial tires at Goodyear.

The Unisteel G159A and G167A regional service tires are produced in Goodyear’s Danville, Va., plant. They offer a quiet, smooth ride and can be retreaded, said Yurkovich.
