RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC — The Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA) has added a new feature to its annual Automotive Aftermarket Status Report. This year, the annual market research report will include a new do-it-yourself (DIY) section that will examine DIY trends, different types of DIY repairs and more about this critical segment of the aftermarket industry.
The annual AASA Automotive Aftermarket Status Report offers a comprehensive snapshot of the market segment’s important contributions to the global economy. The 2005 edition, sponsored by Industrial Marketing Research, is slated for publication in June.
In addition to the new section devoted to the DIY market, other sections of the report include:
* Summary of the global vehicle market
* Detailed analysis of the size of the aftermarket industry
* Analysis of the various aftermarket sub-sectors, which breaks down service work by product categories and explains where the work is being performed
* Update on unperformed maintenance
* Statistics on the Mexican and Canadian aftermarket industry

The report has been enhanced to include easy-to-understand summaries of each graph and chart and a description of the aftermarket for those new to the industry. According to AASA, the timing of the report’s release has been moved earlier in the year to provide manufacturers the ability to have the latest market research information and trends in time for their annual forecasting and budgeting for the upcoming year.
