RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC — More than 200 MEMA members and guests officially commemorated the association’s 100-year anniversary with a reception June 9 at MEMA’s headquarters in Research Triangle Park, NC.
In addition, for the first time ever, the boards of MEMA and its market segment associations – the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association, Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association and the Original Equipment Suppliers Association – held concurrent meetings beginning June 10. The MEMA and market segment associations boards were also joined by the board of the Automotive Warehouse Distributors Association.
Executives in attendance heard comments from current MEMA Chairman Scott Meyer and from past chairman Larry McCurdy. Former MEMA Chairman and President Bob Miller led a cake cutting ceremony. Also during the celebration, the association’s anniversary print was unveiled. Members will receive a poster of the specially commissioned print. Additionally, numerous classic cars from the past 100 years were on display.
