DETROIT CFOs and other top finance executives from the Motor & Equipment Remanufacturers Association (MERA) member companies are invited participate in an important 90-minute planning call on Dec. 11 for the MERA CFO Council, which is set to launch formally in early 2013.
Much like the MERA Sales & Marketing Council, the CFO Council will provide a forum for senior executives to address issues of common concern, share best practices, benchmark business performance and create practical industry tools. These actions can enhance individual company performance and advance the motor vehicle parts remanufacturing industry as a whole.
One initial topic of discussion for the new council is core accounting, and how it relates to the valuation of cores. The preliminary agenda for the CFO Council planning call is:
· Welcome and Introductions
· Review of Antitrust Guidelines
· Roundtable Discussion
· Council Formation / Logistics
· Next Steps and Adjournment
MERA President and COO John Chalifoux will moderate the call. John Hensien, an attorney with MERA affiliate member company Clark Hill, will participate in the call and serve as antitrust counsel. It is common practice for MERA to have an attorney present during all council meetings and discussions.
