Mayhew Steel Products Inc. Acquires Adjacent Manufacturing Facility

Massachusetts tool manufacturer continues to expand.

TURNERS FALLS, Mass. – Mayhew SteelProducts Inc., manufacturer of high-quality hand tools, has completed the acquisition of the land and buildings adjacent to its facility in the Turners Falls Airport Industrial Park.

The property, which includes a modern 17,000-square-foot office and manufacturing building on a 4-acre parcel that abuts Mayhew in the Turners Falls Airport Industrial Park, was the former location of Turbo Steam LLC. The expansion creates a 12-acre smoke-free campus with more than 80,000-square-feet of manufacturing, warehouse and office space.

Since 2012, the Mayhew facility has been operating 24 hours per day, seven days a week, the company says.

“The building became available for purchase at an opportune time as we were planning on an addition of the existing building later this year,” said John Lawless, president. “We are proud of our long history as a U.S. manufacturer and look forward to many years of continued operation, serving our U.S. and global customers.”

In addition to providing needed room for growth, the company says the expansion will allow Mayhew to reduce its carbon footprint by improving efficiency on particular energy-intensive operations.
