Legislation Designating April as Car Care Month Introduced in California

Specifically, the concurrent resolution states that, "The legislature recognizes the considerable contribution of the automotive aftermarket to the state's economy, transportation system and environmental stewardship, while also providing robust consumer choices for the transportation needs of all Californians."

A resolution has been introduced into the California State Assembly by Assemblyman Edward Hernandez (D), recognizing the contributions of the automotive aftermarket to the state of California and its consumers, as well as the industry’s efforts to educate the motoring public about the benefits of proper vehicle maintenance. The measure also recognizes and supports the designation of April as National Car Care Month and encourages state residents to participate in activities that promote proper vehicle maintenance.

Specifically, the concurrent resolution states that, "The legislature recognizes the considerable contribution of the automotive aftermarket to the state’s economy, transportation system and environmental stewardship, while also providing robust consumer choices for the transportation needs of all Californians." The resolution further "recognizes and applauds the automotive aftermarket’s efforts through the ‘Be Car Care Aware’ campaign and National Car Care Month to educate the motoring public about the importance of vehicle safety and environmental stewardship facilitated by proper vehicle maintenance." 

Both the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association and the California Automotive Wholesalers Association (CAWA) are supporting passage of the resolution by the state legislature. To view the resolution, click here.
