DIAMOND BAR, CA — Future automotive technology and the industry’s hottest trends will be unveiled at the upcoming SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Attracting more than 2,000 manufacturers in wide-ranging categories from Racing and Performance to Mobile Electronics and Restyling, the annual SEMA Show is the industry barometer for consumer tastes.
Thirty-nine years ago the industry gathered at the first SEMA Show to promote cutting-edge racing products. At that time the eyes of motorsports were drawn to SEMA. Today, many of those innovators continue to draw attention at the SEMA Show, and they are joined by several thousand more of their colleagues at the annual trade event, which includes the top companies in mobile electronics, truck accessory, restyling and restoration.
“The notion of personalization and customization has started to take hold among mainstream automotive consumers,” said Peter MacGillivray, SEMA vice president of marketing and communications, adding that “the $31 billion industry is driven by enthusiast-based businesses that utilize the show to attract attention to their new products.”
The industry’s enthusiasm for innovation is best represented by the show’s New Products Showcase. Featuring more than 1,000 new products, the showcase is a central gathering point for products from the entire show. Organized in industry-specific categories that include off-road, mobile electronics, racing and performance, truck and restoration categories, it is a comprehensive introduction of what’s hot and new in the industry.
“You wouldn’t believe the products that have made their debut at the SEMA Show,” said MacGillivray. “Year after year we have seen the most significant products hit the market here.”
The SEMA Show, the annual showcase of technology, trends and products for the $31 billion automotive accessories industry, will be held Nov.1-4, 2005 at the Las Vegas Convention Center from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.
