LAS VEGAS — The Car Care Council Women’s Board has named Kathleen Schmatz as the very first “Aftermarket Woman of the Year.” The announcement was made during the 2004 Women’s Board reception, which took place on Tuesday, Nov. 2, during AAPEX in Las Vegas.
“We are all very proud of Kathleen and applaud her many years of dedicated service to the automotive aftermarket,” said Judy Scholl, Women’s Board recruitment and retention committee chair. “We are truly honored to have her represent all women within the industry.”
Schmatz was chosen by the Women’s Board Executive Board based on her longevity in the aftermarket, her career accomplishments, her leadership capabilities and dedication to the automotive aftermarket industry.
Earlier in the week, Schmatz was was awarded the Martin Fromm Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Women’s Board is comprised of professional women and men, including company executives, service shop owners, service writers, motor sports figures, association executives and consultants, who are dedicated to informing female audiences about proper vehicle maintenance and safety, while encouraging young people to investigate automotive career choices.
