Jerry Schneiderman Wins OAC Lifetime Achievement Award

LAS VEGAS, NV — Jerry Schneiderman, president and CEO of IMC World Trade Corp. in Boca Raton, FL, received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Overseas Automotive Council (OAC) at the Council’s annual breakfast meeting held Oct. 31, during the AAPEX

“Jerry has been a tireless supporter of OAC since he first joined in 1965,” said Anthony Cardez, OAC director of business development. “Thanks to his vision and leadership, OAC has grown to be the industry’s recognized source for global aftermarket networking."

Schneiderman began his career in the international automotive aftermarket in 1961. He started IMC World Trade in New York City and quickly expanded his operations. He relocated to New Jersey, where he opened a distribution center and an assembly operation for water pumps. After nearly 25 years in New Jersey, the company’s administrative offices were moved to Boca Raton where they are located today.

He joined the OAC in 1965 and served as a member of its board of directors for more than 15 years. He was elected Council president in 1998, and served a two-year term ending in 2000. Under his leadership, the OAC established its Web site and began its program of electronic communications with members.

Schneiderman, a native of Brooklyn, NY, graduated from The City College of New York (CCNY) with a BBA degree in international marketing. He served in the U.S. armed forces from 1955-1957. He is married and is the father of three sons and two granddaughters.
