Innova Professional Customer Base Has Doubled in Three Years Time, According to Equus

The company credits this increase in automotive professional customers to its expanding line of INNOVA on-board diagnostic scan tools, which are now carried by an estimated 8,000 professional tool trucks.

LAS VEGAS – Equus Products has announced this week at AAPEX 2010 that its professional automotive customer base has doubled over the past three consecutive years, in terms of both sales and end users. The company credits this increase in automotive professional customers to its expanding line of INNOVA on-board diagnostic scan tools, which are now carried by an estimated 8,000 professional tool trucks.

“When we launched our first OBD2 tool back in 2001, we had virtually zero professional customers and the pro industry really didn’t give the INNOVA name a second glance, despite the fact that our products are developed and supported by a team of all-Automotive Service Excellence technicians, many of whom are practicing professionals” said Brendan McShane, marketing manager for Equus Products Inc. “Since then, the INNOVA brand and products have gotten scores of positive ratings and reviews from professional automotive technicians and industry associations. We constantly monitor industry trends and demands to ensure we develop each new tool with features and functions that help efficiently solve today’s automotive repair issues.”

The INNOVA line features a selection of entry- to pro-level on-board diagnostic testers and scan tools, which the company says appeal to everyone from the automotive shop student to the seasoned professional who simply wants to more quickly and accurately repair today’s increasingly complicated, computerized vehicles. Some of the products that are most popular with pros include the INNOVA 3100 CanOBD2 Tool, which has sold more than 600,000 pieces; the 3130 ScanTool CanOBD2; the 3140 ScanTool CanOBD2 & 1 Kit; and the 3160 ScanTool CanOBD2 + ABS. INNOVA diagnostic tools are sold by more than 15,000 North American retailers, as well as an estimated 8,000 tool trucks, according to Equus.

McShane adds that while the tools have helped expand INNOVA’s core business, it’s the company’s cradle-to-grave repair package that really appeals to the pros. To further assist mechanics with solving tough repair problems, each INNOVA diagnostic tool includes access to RepairSolutions at Innova.com, which provides access to an award-winning knowledgebase that helps customers make sense of difficult to understand diagnostic trouble codes and quickly pinpoint what parts and labor are needed to make the correct repair.
