Johnson Controls, Inc. (JCI) held a press conference yesterday evening at AAPEX to give aftermarket press and other attendees a better insight into the company’s automotive capabilities.
JCI, previously a relatively quiet company, is now stepping into the spotlight through a new image campaign. Earlier this month, JCI unveiled a new logo, corporate slogan and advertising campaign designed to more effectively communicate its vision and better align its image and marketing efforts with the company’s current strategic direction.
Using the tagline, “Ingenuity Welcome,” Johnson Controls is promoting itself as a diversified, multi-industrial company. The company is organized into three divisions: Automotive Experience, Building Efficiency and Power Solutions. One of the fastest growing companies in the U.S., Johnson Controls is a global provider of interior systems and also the world’s largest manufacturer of lead acid automotive batteries. The company produced 100 million lead acid batteries in 2007.
During the press conference, JCI’s Alex Molinaroli told attendees that the company wants to focus on its vision of helping consumers create and live in a more “comfortable, safe and sustainable world.” This vision permeates every aspect of the business, from the products the company offers to the philanthropic and environmental outreach the corporation does in the communities it serves. The company also provided an overview of its Optima battery, which has two times the life of a typical battery and is 15 times more vibration resistant.
