IAC Receives 2008 Corporate ONE Award for Its Supplier Diversity Program

DEARBORN, Mich. — International Automotive Components Group (IAC) announced has received a 2008 Corporate ONE Award from the Michigan Minority Business Development Council (MMBDC) for its supplier diversity program that initiates business opportunities with minority business owners.

Criteria for the Corporate ONE award includes having an established minority/diversity supplier development program, reporting minority purchases on a quarterly basis and membership to the MMBDC’s Project ONE, which is an initiative to aid minority businesses in becoming competitive bidders for corporate contracts.

"This award is a step toward solidifying IAC as a leading investor with minority suppliers," said Jim Kamsickas, president and CEO of IAC North America and Asia. "We are proud of our commitment to establish and grow diversity partnerships early in our company’s young history and look forward to future growth. We are committed to creating continued opportunities for our minority supply base."

In its first year, IAC has established business partnerships with more than 60 minority-owned suppliers, with a goal of sourcing up to 15 percent of external purchases to a diverse supply base.
