High Trans-ability Tech Seminar to be Offered at BIG R Show

CHANTILLY, VA – This year’s International BIG R Show will showcase a one-day seminar specifically for the transmission repair and rebuilding segment of the aftermarket. The seminar, entitled “HIGH TRANS-ABILITY TECH,” will be held from 9 am to 4:30 pm on Sunday, Oct. 29 at the Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas, during the International BIG R Show.

The seminar instructors are three of the leading educators when it comes to these new high tech transmissions. The session will kick-off with John Thornton of Autotrain, Inc. who will cover the Chrysler BUS communication diagnostics, including CCD, PCI, and SCI. Thornton brings to the table a transmission presentation never before seen by transmission technicians as well as the answers to what all these communication error codes really mean when one is diagnosing transmission problems.

The next presentation will be handled by Peter Luban of ATSG who will cover rebuilding tips and electrical diagnosis of the Mitsubishi F4A40/50 series of front wheel drive transmissions. He will also cover the R4A/W4A51 rear wheel drive transmission that is typically found in the Montero SUV.

The concluding presentation will be given by ATSG’s President, Wayne Colonna. His focus will be on ATSG’s Powertrain Insights II which consist of diagnosing electrical problems with the Chrysler RE series transmissions in Durango’s, Grand Cherokees and Ram trucks to name a few. Colonna will also provide great information on diagnosing Ford’s vehicle speed PSOM systems and much more.
