HD Dialogue ’07 Focuses on ‘Flat World’ Realities in the Commercial Vehicle Market

The 2007 HD Dialogue, organized by the Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association (HDMA), will address the “Flat Realities” of the heavy duty industry on Monday, Jan. 22, at The Mirage in Las Vegas. The event will give insight into the global marketplace, future economic and market trends, industry predictions and technology.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK , NC – The 2007 HD Dialogue, organized by the Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association (HDMA), will address the “Flat Realities” of the heavy duty industry on Monday, Jan. 22, at The Mirage in Las Vegas .

The event will give insight into the global marketplace, future economic and market trends, industry predictions and technology.

“Technology has changed the shape of the world and will also change the shape of this industry,” said HDMA Chairman Bill Diggory, vice president and general manager of SKF. “In addition to adapting to new technology, our industry needs to adapt to an evolving global marketplace. We must recognize how the realities of a flat world will impact our industry.”

Technology will be discussed in the panel, “Growth Opportunities Presented by Advanced and Innovative Technologies.” Sandeep Kar, a transportation analyst with Frost & Sullivan, will moderate the panel. Joe McAleese, president and CEO of Bendix, and Garrick Hu, vice president of Vehicle Dynamics Advanced Engineering for ArvinMeritor, are among the executives on the panel.

Other experts presenting at the event include:

  • Jeffrey Rosensweig, noted economist, author, educator and financial analyst for national media;
  • Consultant and futurist Derek Kaufman, the highest rated speaker for HD Dialogue ’06; and
  • Peter Nesvold, heavy duty analyst for Bear Stearns.

HD Dialogue is an annual, one-day event for industry executives. The Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW) will follow this event, bringing together 2,500 aftermarket distributor and supplier executives.
