To support the local community this holiday season, Hankook Tire partnered with Eva’s Village, in Paterson, New Jersey, to help feed the area’s homeless and working poor. Hankook employees collected items for a holiday food drive to help Eva’s Village with its mission to feed the growing number of homeless and working poor, resulting in more than 900 food items donated to the organization. Hankook matched the donations with a cash gift card for Eva’s Village.

According to the group, more than 11.5 percent of New Jersey residents don’t have enough to eat. Eva’s Village serves hot, balanced, nutritious meals to up to 400 homeless and working poor, 365 days a year. Hankook collected nonperishable items such as canned food, pasta, stuffing, rice, breakfast cereal and Thanksgiving-related food items. In addition, Hankook donated a set of four tires for one of the charity’s outreach vehicles that is used in day-to-day activities.

“The holidays are a time to reflect and be thankful, and a time to help those less fortunate,” said Hee Se Ahn, president, Hankook Tire America. “It is our hope that this food drive will help Eva’s Village achieve its mission of feeding the community and inspire ongoing community outreach where our employees work and live.”
