WAYNE, NJ — Hankook Tire America Corp. has selected four Grand Prize winners in Hankook’s Ventus Tire “Getaway” Giveaway. The online promotion ended May 31, 2005. The response was greater than anticipated, and in the end four winners were selected at random to receive a $5,000 gift certificate to a select Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts destination in the U.S. or Puerto Rico, plus first-class, round-trip airfare for two to their chosen location.

The Ventus Tire “Getaway” Giveaway was launched this spring to coincide with the release of the Ventus V4es Premium Ultra-High Performance Tire for Every Season. The heavily promoted giveaway was advertised in auto enthusiast and outdoor publications, in point-of-purchase displays at Hankook dealerships, and on publication Web sites. The online promotion called for visitors to Hankook Tire’s website to enter via a special Ventus Tire “Getaway” Giveaway link.

“The Ventus Tire ‘Getaway’ Giveaway was extremely effective in communicating the right message to the right audience,” said Bill Bainbridge, Hankook Tire marketing director. “The website received a significant number of hits, and thousands of visitors entered the contest and explored the information throughout the site. It was a winning effort all the way around.”

In addition to the Grand Prize winners, 50 First Prize winners were chosen at random to receive a Canon PowerShot digital camera. A total of 250 Second Prize winners were chosen at random to receive a Hankook Tire MasterCard Gift Card with a face value of $20.00.

Ventus Tire “Getaway” Giveaway winner Patricia Struntz of Woodland Hills, CA was jubilant upon hearing the news: “I would like to express my sincere thanks to Hankook for their Ventus Tire “Getaway” Giveaway sweepstakes gift,” exclaimed Ms. Struntz when informed of her Grand prize winner status. “I have never won anything in my life, much less been a grand prize winner. I don’t race, but I drive a sports car with 18″ high performance tires so I fully appreciate Hankook sponsoring this contest. Thank you, thank you, thank you!”

Struntz and her husband James plan to use their “Getaway” Giveaway windfall in Jackson Hole, WY, for a ski vacation next March. “We are looking forward to a great ski trip in incredible accommodations,” she stated. “Once again, thank you, Hankook Tire America, for a very cool prize package.”
