Hankook Partners With Disabled American Veterans To Provide Services Through Mobile Service Office Program

Donation to fund southeast MSO stops, providing free services to veterans where they live.

WAYNE, N.J. – Hankook Tire America Corp. has announced a commitment to Disabled American Veterans (DAV) to help provide services to veterans of all generations. As a sponsor of the DAV’s Mobile Service Office (MSO) program, Hankook’s $50,000 contribution will help DAV continue to bring free services directly to veterans where they live. Hankook supports the DAV MSO program, which covers 70 stops within the southeast region each year, including Tennessee where Hankook will break ground on its first U.S. plant this month.

“Hankook’s commitment to supporting DAV stems from its corporate social responsibility goals, which are rooted in helping people through mobility,” said Byeong Jin Lee, president, Hankook Tire America Corp.  “We are proud to support DAV’s Mobile Service Office program and its efforts to help American veterans receive the benefits and services they need following their military service.”

‎Hankook and DAV will officially kick off their partnership on Oct. 9 at the groundbreaking ceremony for Hankook’s first U.S. plant in Clarksville, Tenn. The groundbreaking of Hankook’s U.S. plant symbolizes laying down roots in the U.S‎., the company says. In addition to Hankook’s local investment and job creation, Hankook says it also is dedicated to being a good corporate neighbor through community engagement both in Tennessee and throughout the region. ‎The DAV’s MSO program underscores Hankook’s commitment to mobility by providing valuable and necessary services to thousands of American veterans in the region as well as Hankook’s interest in giving back to the Clarksville, Tenn. area.

Through the MSO program, DAV National Service Officers, all of whom are disabled veterans themselves, help veterans living in smaller town and rural communities obtain the VA and other benefits and services they need to lead high quality lives. Through the MSO program, DAV helped more than 20,000 veterans and their families in 832 cities last year alone.
