Green Earth Technologies Names Simon Higgs President and COO

Higgs to replace Dr. Mathew Zuckerman, who has resigned due to health issues.

STAMFORD, Conn. — Green Earth Technologies (GET) has named Simon Higgs as its new president and chief operating officer. Higgs, already a member of the board of directors, will immediately take on both roles from Dr. Mathew Zuckerman, who recently resigned from his position as president and COO due to medical reasons.

Jeffrey Loch, co-founder of GET, will replace Zuckerman on the board of directors and will continue leading GET’s marketing and sales initiatives while chairing the advisory board.

"We are very grateful for all of Dr. Mat Zuckerman’s hard work and invaluable contributions," said Jeff Marshall, chairman and CEO of GET. "The GET team is in full support of Mr. Higgs appointment as he has already demonstrated phenomenal leadership on the board and we are very happy that he has agreed to expand his participation with GET and lead the team."

Simon Higgs began his career with the U.K.’s Royal Mail, holding several senior management positions. In 1996, Higgs joined Marken Ltd., a privately held, U.K.-based courier company where he served in a number of executive posts including vice president of U.S. operations, U.K. managing director, Asia/Pacific regional director and the number two position in the company, global director. During his 10-year tenure with Marken, the company became the market leader in specialist, pharmaceutical transportation. Higgs left Marken in 2006 to pursue other investment and consultancy interests. He currently resides in Connecticut, where Green Earth Technologies is headquartered.
