NORTH CANTON, OH – Recently, five students planning to attend the University of Northwestern Ohio (UNO) were awarded with Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium (GAAS) Scholarships from a pledge made on behalf of ASC Industries’ “Customers Who Care.”

David Evaldi, of Scott Depot, WV; Alister Kurzer, of Lima, OH; Devin Shaffer, of Mt. Gilead, OH; Kyle Smith, of Beech Bottom, WV; and Benjamin Wolford, of Arlington, OH; were the five applicants chosen for the GAAS scholarship dollars provided on behalf of ASC’s customers. UNO is a four-year college with a strong ASE/NATEF certified automotive vocational program.

In December 2006, ASC Industries pledged a donation to the GAAS Scholarship Fund to aid students in pursuing their careers in the automotive aftermarket instead of sending customers traditional holiday gifts as a token of their appreciation. As stated by ASC president and CEO Ted Swaldo then, “In light of the growing need for skilled technicians and talented employees in the automotive aftermarket, we have chosen what we feel is a more meaningful way to show our gratitude. In short, ASC’s “Customers Who Care” will make a difference in someone’s life, not to mention the industry’s future.”
